Okay, maybe not the best version, but an improved version ― the person you’ll be proud to become.

This step calls for looking beyond your relationship with others. You want to dig deep and figure out what matters to you or the version of yourself you want to become rather than limiting your vision to your relationship with others.

In other words, think of how best you can live for yourself, not just the people in your life. Periodically ask yourself questions along the lines of:

  • What do I really want out of life?
  • What are my regrets, and how can I prevent future regrets?
  • Where do I see myself in a few (5, 10, 15) years?

Don’t worry about visualizing a perfect picture from the get-go; you’ll figure it out as you go along your journey.
